KUVO-FM ADDS NEURAL-THX® SURROUND SOUND LIBRARY
LEADING DENVER RADIO STATION TO BROADCAST 24/7 SURROUND JAZZ MUSIC AS ORIGINALLY RECORDED USING NEURAL-THX SURROUND

KIRKLAND, WA (May 9, 2007) – Neural Audio Corporation, the market leader in developing advanced audio and surround sound technologies, today announced that KUVO-FM in Denver has begun broadcasting in Neural-THX® Surround. This partnership with KUVO-FM, a pioneer in digital radio, provides jazz fans with more than 1,500 titles encoded with the Neural-THX Surround technology.

Neural Audio, which recently partnered with THX Ltd. to collaborate on surround sound initiatives in the broadcast, video games and consumer electronics markets, has worked with major record labels to create an extensive library of surround sound music. KUVO-FM listeners with Neural-THX Surround-enabled AV receivers will be able to experience jazz greats such as Miles Davis, Dave Brubeck, Ray Charles, Tito Puente and Dianne Reeves in true, 5.1 surround sound. Today, the Neural-THX Surround technology is featured in products from leading electronics brands, such as Sony, Onkyo and Yamaha.

“KUVO has been committed to surround sound for almost three years now as an important part in delivering the best possible radio experience to our listeners,” said Mike Pappas, KUVO-FM chief engineer and broadcast coordinator. “Since broadcasting the first ever 5.1 HD Radio™ broadcast with Neural Audio in the US three years ago, KUVO has broadcast more than 1,000 hours of special programs and events using Neural-THX Surround. Integrating original performances and surround content from their library into our ENCO system is a natural for our surround efforts. And the best part of the Neural system is we didn’t have to rework our facility to support it or modify our transmission system. With the Neural-THX system it’s easy. Additionally there are millions of receivers in the field making it easy for our listeners to take advantage of our surround broadcasts.”

The Neural-THX Surround Sound Library is comprised of more than 16,000 tracks in all musical genres, which were all originally mixed in 5.1 or 7.1 surround sound. Neural Audio has worked to make all of the tracks readily available for broadcast over a standard stereo infrastructure using the Neural-THX Surround downmix technology. The Neural-THX Surround Sound Library can rapidly be integrated into a digital audio storage and automation system, with relevant ID tag information, making a radio station ready for surround broadcast in a very short period of time.
